The group includes the frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov, the large anti-submarine ship Admiral Tributs and the tanker Pechenga, the embassy said in its post on X.

The arrival comes amid ongoing maritime engagement between India and Russia, following Exercise INDRA 2026, a bilateral naval exercise aimed at strengthening operational coordination and interoperability between the two navies.

The harbour phase of INDRA 2026 opened in Vladivostok on October 15, bringing together personnel from INS Sahyadri and the Russian Navy, with cross-deck visits and a protocol meeting with the Deputy Mayor of Vladivostok, the Indian Navy said. The exercise, held from October 13 to 18, featured harbour engagements and coordinated operational activities at sea.

A second report on the port call also listed the same three vessels at Kochi and described the visit as a further opportunity for Indian and Russian naval personnel to engage in professional exchanges after the joint exercise.
