In Ludhiana's Jassian Green Enclave, a woman identified as Twinkle has alleged that her husband, Ritish Sharma, dragged her by her hair onto the road and assaulted her over demands for a Mahindra Thar SUV and a motorcycle, Daily Jagran reported. The woman, who runs a local salon, has filed a formal complaint and submitted CCTV footage to the Jagatpuri police post in Ludhiana, according to Daily Jagran. A case has been registered against the accused, the report said.

NDTV reported the CCTV surfaced showing the woman being slapped and grabbed by her hair outside their home on the night of October 21, and that neighbours, alarmed by her screams, rushed out and rescued her. She has filed a formal complaint with police and shared the CCTV footage as proof, NDTV said.

According to the complaint as reported by Daily Jagran, the couple married in November 2025, and she alleged the demands began about three months after the wedding — first for a Thar, and later, during Navratri, for a motorcycle — with assaults when she refused. These are her allegations as reported; Awaaz Punjab has not independently verified them.

Investigating officer ASI Sukhjinder Singh said the victim's complaint and CCTV footage from the scene have been taken into custody, and that police are investigating on the basis of this evidence and strict legal action will be taken against the accused soon, Daily Jagran reported.
