A case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Police said the investigation is ongoing to identify the suppliers and distributors linked to the seized drug.

The Thane action was reported alongside other anti-narcotics operations in the Mumbai-Thane area in the same period, including an arrest at the Kharegaon toll plaza with 1.11 kg of methaqualone and an arrest in Andheri East with 1.896 kg of hydroponic cannabis. An arrest and the registration of a case do not amount to a conviction; the court process will decide the allegations.
