The headline figure is about Rs 82 billion in plain terms — yaani 8,225 crore rupees. The government described the sitting as aimed at the state's all-round development and strengthening of the administrative machinery.
Where the irrigation money goes
The irrigation allocation of Rs 3,378.69 crore covers projects in Chhindwara, Seoni, Morena, Sagar and Damoh districts during 2026-27 to 2030-31. It includes Rs 2,611.13 crore for the Chhindwara Irrigation Complex Project and Rs 197 crore for the Pench Diversion Project, which aims to supply agricultural water in Chhindwara and Seoni.
A further Rs 531.15 crore is for the Chentikheda Major Irrigation Project in Morena district, and Rs 39.41 crore for the Panchamnagar Irrigation Complex Project, which aims to irrigate 25,000 hectares across Sagar and Damoh districts through a pipeline system. The Pagra Dam and Panchamnagar Barrage have already been constructed under that project, the reports said.
Forests, health and new district offices
The cabinet also cleared Rs 2,050.03 crore from the Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority (CAMPA) for its 2026-27 annual plan — for compensatory plantation, restoration of degraded forests, river rejuvenation, soil and water conservation, wildlife habitat development and strengthening forest infrastructure.
A further Rs 1,743.58 crore was approved for the continuation of Public Health and Medical Education Department schemes, and Rs 651.25 crore for Social Justice and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities schemes for 2026-27 to 2030-31.
To strengthen administration in newly formed districts, the cabinet approved District Education Officer offices in Niwari, Mauganj, Pandhurna and Maihar — 68 new posts and 32 personnel through outsourcing, at a cost of Rs 16.80 crore. It also approved Rs 345.52 crore for the Economic Offences Wing during the 16th Finance Commission period from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2031, and Rs 40 crore for the Law and Legislative Affairs Department's asset maintenance scheme in the same period.
These are cabinet approvals reported by the state government and carried by the agencies; the reports did not give a completion date for individual projects beyond the 2026-27 to 2030-31 implementation window for the irrigation works.
