Five members of a family were found dead in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, on Monday, in what police described as a suspected case of a man killing four of his family members before taking his own life, news agencies ANI and IANS reported.
The bodies of the four family members were found inside their house in the Malikhedi area, under the Chhola Mandir police station limits. Police identified them as Saraswati Sahu (50), her daughter-in-law Somlata Sahu (29), and the couple's two children, aged 10 and 6. The body of Somlata's husband, Narendra Sahu (35), was recovered from railway tracks in the Chopra Kalan area, under the Sukhi Sewania police station limits.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police Sanjeev Pathak told ANI that police first received information about a body on the Sukhisewaniyan railway track on Monday morning, and that once the man was identified, relatives opened the family's house and found the four others dead inside. He said the house keys were found with the deceased man, and that, prima facie, it appeared he had committed the murders at his residence before dying by suicide on the tracks.

IANS reported that no suicide note had been found so far, and that the house is located in a multi-storey residential building beyond the Gaur Marriage Garden area. A forensic team examined both the house and the railway-track site, and the bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination.
