Four employees of the company were travelling on two motorcycles from Jhabua to Indore to attend a company meeting. When the two colleagues on the second motorcycle fell behind, the pair ahead stopped and waited for them — and it was while they were waiting, at around 9 pm, that the speeding crane hit them, according to a colleague's account reported by Loknath News.

The two colleagues riding behind witnessed the crash, informed police and took the injured men to the district hospital. The deceased were identified as Rohit Meena, a resident of Sugaon, and Naushad, of a village near Karai in Shajapur district. Post-mortem examinations were carried out on Saturday — Rohit's at MY Hospital and Naushad's at the district hospital — and colleagues who reached Chandan Nagar police station and the hospitals were in shock, the report said.
Police are investigating the facts of the crash, including the speed of the crane and the circumstances of the collision. The Free Press Journal reported that the driver fled the spot after hitting the motorcycle.
