The Madhya Pradesh Semiconductor Summit-2026 opened in Indore on Friday, October 23, as the state made its formal bid to join India's semiconductor race. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inaugurated the two-day summit and was scheduled to present the state's vision of developing a semiconductor hub, according to a statement issued by his office and reported by IANS. Nation Press reported that the Chief Minister announced the summit's opening on Friday, framing it as the state's bid to become a major chip-industry centre.
The summit is being held at the Brilliant Convention Centre in Indore on October 23 and 24, IANS and Dainik Jagran reported. Yadav was also scheduled to hold one-to-one meetings with investors and representatives of semiconductor companies to discuss investment opportunities and technological collaboration, and to visit an exhibition of products, technologies and solutions from companies in the sector, according to the Chief Minister's office statement.
More than 50 companies are participating in the exhibition, displaying their capabilities in chip design, packaging and testing, equipment, materials, electronics manufacturing and emerging technologies, IANS reported, a figure also carried by Dainik Jagran. The programme features eight panel discussions and five roundtable meetings, according to both reports, bringing together representatives of domestic and international semiconductor companies, investors, industry experts, academicians and startups.
Packaging, fabless design and skills on the agenda
Discussions on the first day focus on developing Madhya Pradesh as a hub for advanced packaging and testing, building a fabless ecosystem, and strengthening semiconductor manufacturing and supply chains, IANS reported. Roundtable meetings cover artificial intelligence infrastructure, fabless product development and intellectual property, while the second day will focus on chip technology, artificial intelligence, electronics manufacturing, design services, research and development, and skill development.
Dainik Jagran reported that a proposed investment of Rs 6,200 crore (yaani Rs 62 billion) by Paras Semiconductors was among the proposals in focus at the summit — a reported proposal, not a confirmed investment commitment. No final investment figures had been announced by the state government at the time of the summit's opening.
