According to the reports, the altercation occurred around 5 a.m. near Tripuri Chowk under the Garha police station jurisdiction. City Superintendent of Police (Garha) Ashish Jain said Sub-Inspector Sanjay Gurjar, who was accompanying the procession with his team, received information about the fight and rushed to the spot, around 50 feet from the chowk, and intervened to separate the two groups.

Police found the youth, identified in the reports by his first name Anurag, injured in a stabbing attack. He was taken to hospital for treatment — IANS said he was taken to the Medical Hospital. Sub-Inspector Gurjar sustained a facial injury while intervening to rescue the victim and control the situation, the reports said.

Police said the preliminary investigation indicated the clash stemmed from an old personal enmity that had persisted for the past two to three months. The main detained accused, identified in the reports as Akash, was described by police as a habitual offender with earlier cases related to assault and alleged Arms Act violations registered against him. A case is being registered under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and further investigation is underway, police said. These are police statements on an ongoing investigation; no court has decided the case.
