In its public notice, the ministry said N-PABSAN repeatedly failed to follow the orders given under Section 5 of the National Directive Act, 2018, and that its leaders acted against the organisation's constitution, approved by the Government of Nepal, and against its main goals. The suspension was imposed under Section 6, sub-section (2) of the Act.

Warnings and a meeting came first, ministry says
According to the ministry, discussions were held on October 9, and N-PABSAN was urged to comply with directives issued on November 28, 2025. EduSanjal reported the ministry held a meeting with the concerned groups on Bhadra 23, 2083 BS, at which they were asked to work according to the Act and the ministry's order of Kartik 12, 2082, but the association did not act as asked.
The ministry warned that any activities conducted in the name of N-PABSAN by any group or faction after the suspension would be considered illegal and could face legal action under prevailing laws, The Himalayan Times reported.
The suspension takes effect until further notice. It is not yet clear how N-PABSAN will respond, or what the move means in practice for the private schools the association represents across Nepal.
