Pali, Oct 19: A major fire broke out late on Sunday night at a factory in the Phase IV industrial area of Gwar village in Rajasthan's Pali district, leaving three workers seriously burned and two missing, officials said.

Seventeen workers were present at the factory when the fire started. The three seriously burned workers were referred to Jodhpur for advanced treatment. The two missing workers could not be traced, and their phones were ringing unanswered as the search continued, officials said.

Fire tenders from Pali, Sumerpur, Rani, Falna and Sojat were pressed into service, and a wall of the premises was demolished with a JCB machine to reach the blaze. The fire was brought under control early on Monday.

City Circle Officer Mangalesh Chundawat reached the spot and supervised the operation. The cause of the fire has not yet been established, and officials said a detailed assessment would follow once the site was fully secured.
