Sarinh, Jalandhar: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced on Wednesday, October 28, that the next instalment under the Mukh Mantri Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojna will be credited to the bank accounts of women beneficiaries on November 1. Mirror Now, reporting the same address, also said Mann announced that his government is scheduled to transfer the next instalment of the scheme on November 1.

Mann said women had shared their experiences with him through phone calls, messages and videos, describing how the assistance had helped them meet household needs. According to the Chief Minister, some women used the money to repay outstanding shop credit, others bought household essentials or installed reverse osmosis water purifiers, and some elderly women bought bicycles for their grandchildren. He said the assistance was not meant to make anyone wealthy overnight, but to provide financial support and dignity to women from ordinary households, and that money deposited directly into a woman's own account reduces her dependence on others for everyday expenses.
At the same programme, Mann handed over a cheque of Rs 51 lakh (yaani just over half a crore rupees) for development works in Sarinh village. Nakodar MLA Inderjit Kaur Mann, singer Kanth Kaler and senior district administrative officials were among those present, according to the report. Nation Press also reported the Rs 51 lakh cheque handed over by the Chief Minister at the Sarinh Lok Milni.

Mann's allegation against the opposition
Mann alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the Congress and the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) are threatening to discontinue welfare schemes that benefit ordinary families, and alleged that the three parties are engaged in a coordinated effort to dislodge his government. These are the Chief Minister's allegations, made in a political address; the opposition parties have not confirmed any plan to stop this scheme in the reports of this event, and Punjab Khabarnama noted that the opposition parties' positions and the future of individual schemes remain matters of political debate. Mann also criticised previous governments, alleging that public resources had not been adequately used for the benefit of ordinary citizens, and said money collected through taxes belongs to the people and must be used for public welfare.
The welfare fight has already reached the Assembly floor this session, where the House passed a resolution to protect the state government's welfare schemes and financial benefits. Read: Assembly resolution on welfare schemes
The announcement comes as Punjab's parties step up campaigning ahead of the 2027 Assembly elections, in which the continuation of direct cash assistance to women and other welfare benefits has become a central theme. What happens next is straightforward: the November 1 date Mann announced is when beneficiaries should see the instalment credited, and Awaaz Punjab will update this story if the transfer is confirmed or delayed.
