A total of 2,40,534 eligible voters have been added to Rajasthan's electoral roll in the first 20 days of the Special Summary Revision (SSR) drive, Chief Electoral Officer Naveen Mahajan said, with young voters aged 18-19 accounting for the largest share.

Of the newly added voters, 1,39,972 are in the 18-19 age group — yaani about 1.40 lakh first-time-age voters — representing 58% of applications from that group processed so far. Another 1,00,562 voters aged 20 and above were added, representing 54% of applications from that group, Mahajan said.

The drive in numbers

7,78,147 Form-6 applications were received in all — 4,30,701 from the 18-19 group, including 31,600 advance applications received up to October 1, and 3,47,446 from people aged 20 and above between October 1 and 20. Of the total, 3,52,778 applications will be processed after the prescribed seven-day objection period.

For the 18-19 group, Bundi, Bharatpur, Dholpur, Karauli, Alwar, Tonk, Balotra, Churu, Kotputli-Behror and Sawai Madhopur led by percentage of applications received. For voters aged 20 and above, Jaipur, Alwar, Churu, Karauli, Jodhpur, Sikar, Udaipur, Bhilwara, Pali and Banswara led by application volume, according to the figures shared by the CEO's office.

A review of the campaign, based on an earlier video conference and a report dated October 20, identified eight assembly constituencies with consistently low registration performance — Nokha, Ramganj Mandi, Barmer, Shiv, Ghatol, Dantaramgarh, Sangod and Chhotan — which were warned to improve their progress, Mahajan said. The remaining applications are still being processed.
