Three men alleged to have opened fire at actor Tiger Shroff's car in Mumbai's Juhu on Sunday evening have been detained at Kota railway station in Rajasthan and are being interrogated, multiple reports said on Monday. The three were detained while travelling by train, in a joint operation by the Rajasthan Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) and Kota City Police, according to Sambad English, citing sources; the development was also reported by Livemint, The Daily Jagran and The Indian Express.
One report said a juvenile is among those detained. Early reports differ on the detained men's identities and home states, and police have not yet issued a full official list — this report therefore names no individual.
The original attack took place on Sunday, October 18, at around 7 pm, as Shroff was returning by car after playing football. Two assailants allegedly opened fire at the vehicle from the front and left side and fled. His driver and caretaker Firdos Ibrahim Baloch sustained a gunshot wound to his left hand; Shroff sustained minor injuries from glass and gunpowder but no gunshot injury. Mumbai Police and the Crime Branch had formed 15 teams to trace the attackers.
Mumbai's Juhu Police had registered an FIR against three unidentified persons under Sections 109(1) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and relevant provisions of the Arms Act.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the accused were operating from outside Maharashtra and that their handlers would be traced, with help from central agencies. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Shroff and assured him full protection, and Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti was asked to review security arrangements for members of the film industry.
