The cause of the crash has not been officially established. Officials at the spot suspect a possible brake failure, NDTV reported, but SaptashwaTV noted that no official explanation had been provided and that brake failure remains only a possibility at this stage. Police are expected to question the bus driver and conductor, and a technical inspection of the bus could establish whether its braking system was working at the time.
