Households and institutions are being urged to conserve rainwater, maintain existing rainwater harvesting systems, and take part more widely in water conservation across Tamil Nadu, as the state heads into the northeast monsoon season.
The launch comes as parts of Tamil Nadu, including Chennai, are receiving heavy northeast monsoon rain, with district administrations closing schools in several northern districts this week because of the weather.
