According to ACP Atul Kumar, personnel from the DLF police outpost were conducting vehicle checks at Bhagat Singh Chowk when they spotted a man riding a scooter from the DLF side. Police said that when officers gave chase, the accused allegedly fired at the pursuing team with intent to kill. The team retaliated in self-defence, and the accused sustained a bullet wound to his right leg. He was apprehended at the scene and taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police identified the accused as Amjad, 25, a resident of Loni in Ghaziabad, and said 16 criminal cases are registered against him at multiple police stations in the district.
