Adityanath said projects worth more than Rs 16,000 crore had been sanctioned for Gonda alone over the last nine and a half years, while projects worth approximately Rs 50,000 crore had been approved for the entire Devipatan division. He said Gonda received investment proposals totalling Rs 3,000 crore in 2023, with several of those projects already being implemented on the ground.

The Chief Minister also said the widening of the Balrampur-Gonda and Gonda-Ayodhya roads had received approval from the Central government.

In his address, Adityanath attacked the previous Samajwadi Party government, alleging that its tenures brought riots, curfews and crime to the state and that religious festivals and the Kanwar Yatra had faced restrictions in western Uttar Pradesh — allegations the Samajwadi Party has denied in the past. He recalled that on November 2, 1990, the then government in Ayodhya had ordered firing on devotees of Lord Ram.

The Gonda programme is among the larger single-district project launches by the state government in the region. Details of individual projects and their completion timelines are expected in official disclosures.
