In separate reporting, Live Law, citing a Times of India report, described Ahirwar as a 70-year-old advocate who had practised law since 1981 and was elected president of the Kalpi Bar Association for a fourth term earlier this year. It said he was allegedly lured into a car by men posing as clients and that his body was recovered on Sunday, November 1, after he went missing while returning home from court.

Police said the investigation took a further turn when the suspects were taken to recover a vehicle allegedly used in the abduction, hidden in a forested area under the Kalpi police station limits in Jalaun district. According to ASP Soni, the suspects had hidden a firearm in bushes near the vehicle, fired two rounds at the police, and police returned fire, discharging six rounds. Two accused, identified as Ashish Vishwakarma and Sarvesh Shukla, sustained gunshot injuries to their legs, while a third man was captured after a brief chase.

Live Law identified the third man apprehended at the scene as Keshav Katiyar. It also reported that police had taken Indrajeet Yadav into custody, alleging he was the mastermind behind the killing, and were searching for Monu Yadav, who is suspected to be the main shooter and remains absconding. Those roles are police allegations and have not been proved in court.

Investigators suspect, as an allegation still under probe, that the killing may be linked to a long-standing land dispute involving nearly four hectares of land in the Jalaun region, Live Law reported. Police have registered a case under relevant sections of law and further legal proceedings are under way, ASP Soni said.
