Adityanath linked the subsidy to the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, the central scheme that gave poor households access to clean cooking fuel, and said it had provided women with better health, convenience and dignity. 'Our commitment is clear. No poor family should be forced to return to smoke-filled traditional stoves because of financial difficulties,' he said.

The Chief Minister used the announcement to target previous governments in Uttar Pradesh — his political claim, presented as allegation, was that when a government's priority was its own family, the suffering of poor households was overlooked, and millions of women were compelled to cook in smoke-filled kitchens. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and what he called the 'double-engine government' with prioritising public welfare, and extended advance Diwali greetings to mothers and sisters.

In a separate post the same day, Adityanath highlighted Ayodhya's annual Deepotsav celebrations as a message of social harmony, saying shared faith and culture bring society together.
