A court in Nagpur on Wednesday granted the Uttar Pradesh Police transit remand of Shraddha Dubey and two other accused in the murder case of Lucknow businessman Shiva Sharma, and the police team has left for Lucknow with all three, news agency ANI reported. The three were produced before the Nagpur court a day after their arrest in the city.
Dubey, her sister Rashmi Dubey and their driver Danish were arrested on Tuesday in a joint operation by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (UP STF) and Lucknow Police after days of raids at multiple locations, ANI said. The Daily Jagran reported that the transit remand is for 72 hours, and that in a further development on Wednesday, police detained Dubey's boyfriend Aamir, who is alleged to have helped her escape after Sharma's death on October 9. According to the Jagran report, Aamir allegedly accompanied her as she fled Lucknow, helped her reach the Nepal border, and provided her with a mobile phone and a SIM card that investigators say were obtained using fake identity documents. These claims are allegations under investigation and have not been proved.
