According to police, the joint team received information that a container was carrying a large consignment of ganja. Acting on the tip-off, officers intensified surveillance along the National Highway and intercepted the container, and a search led to the recovery of the contraband. The three arrested men were identified as Satish Kumar, Nasir and Asif Abdul Karim, all residents of the Pinangwan police station area in Haryana's Nuh district, Top Indian News reported.
Refinery Circle Officer Praveen Tiwari said preliminary questioning indicated that the ganja had allegedly been brought from Odisha. According to police, Satish Kumar told investigators that he and his associates travelled to Berhampur in Odisha on October 17 in an empty container, allegedly purchased the ganja from an acquaintance named Jitendra and loaded the consignment into the container at Raipankha before setting off. Investigators suspect the consignment was intended to be handed over to a person identified as Shamsher near the Uttar Pradesh-Haryana border.
