A 54-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of Kiersten Fabiani, who was found badly injured beneath a pickup truck in a north Phoenix backyard earlier this month, the Phoenix Focal reported on October 20, citing Phoenix police and court proceedings. Anthony Keith Errigo Jr. was arrested on October 19 in connection with Fabiani's death, according to a Phoenix Police Department homicide update reported by Habari News.
Fabiani, 61, was found on October 8 at about 11:15 a.m. at a home near 40th Street and Greenway Road, in the 15600 block of North 40th Street, after a 911 caller discovered her bleeding and unresponsive, police said. She was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and was unable to give investigators a statement. She died 10 days later, on October 18, and the case became a homicide investigation. Prosecutor Ashley Stetson told a court on Tuesday that an autopsy found Fabiani died from blunt-force trauma, with head lacerations, bleeding in the brain, broken ribs and a neck injury consistent with strangulation, the Focal reported.
According to court records reported by the Focal, surveillance video showed Fabiani and Errigo entering the backyard, and Errigo was later seen returning to wash his hands and shoes with a hose. The homeowner had hired Errigo to work at the property; neither he nor Fabiani lived there, the Focal said. Errigo told police he fought with Fabiani and struck her, according to court documents reported by the Focal — an account attributed to police and prosecutors, not independently established. Police said cellphone records placed Errigo at the home around the time of the assault. Habari's report of the police update said Errigo faces first-degree murder, aggravated assault and tampering with evidence charges, and that the investigation remains ongoing, with no motive released. Anyone with information can contact Phoenix police or Silent Witness at 480-948-6377.
The charges are criminal accusations, and Errigo is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. Sources: Phoenix Focal, October 20, 2026; Habari News, reporting the Phoenix Police Department homicide update, October 21, 2026; Habari News, October 19, 2026.
