Troopers caught up with the pickup as it exited at Bethany Home Road and stopped in the parking lot of a gas station at the northeast corner of Bethany Home Road and I-17. Troopers conducted a high-risk stop, ordered the driver out, and, after she refused to comply, physically removed her from the vehicle and took her into custody following a brief struggle, the reports said. Field sobriety tests were administered at the scene and impairment was strongly suspected, according to DPS officials at the scene. The trooper involved in the collision declined medical attention. The driver's identity and formal charges had not been confirmed in the reports, and any impairment allegation has not been proven in court.
