Immigration enforcement activity has been reported across the Sacramento region this week, with the community monitoring group NorCal Resist saying suspected ICE agents detained multiple people in the Citrus Heights area, according to a FOX40 report carried on October 21.

NorCal Resist, which has monitored U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement activity in Northern California for nearly a decade, did not publish a confirmed total in the reports seen by Awaaz Punjab, and ICE has not released detention numbers for the Sacramento-area reports. The figures are therefore reported here as advocate reports, not as confirmed official counts.
The Sacramento reports come amid wider documented activity in the North State. ChicoSol reported that NorCal Resist Migra Watch observers saw federal immigration enforcement officers early on October 19 at the Sutter County Veterans Hall in Yuba City, a site listed as an Election Day polling place, and that it was unclear whether any detentions took place there.

ChicoSol also reported that Gov. Gavin Newsom issued an October 9 alert about what might be a 45-day ICE push, described as Operation Safe California, to ramp up immigration enforcement ahead of the midterm elections. ChicoSol said no ICE sightings had been verified in Chico since October 9.
Confirmed by reporting: advocate reports of detentions near Citrus Heights and observer sightings in Yuba City. Not confirmed: a total number of people detained in the Sacramento area, which ICE had not published in the reports reviewed.
