AURORA, Colorado — A man was arrested after alleged gunfire in the student pickup line at Rangeview High School on Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 20, Aurora police said in accounts reported by CBS Colorado and KDVR FOX31. Police said both men had come to the school to pick up students and that an argument over a road-rage incident became physical before one man allegedly fired a weapon and fled.

No injuries were reported. Rangeview was placed on a secure perimeter for approximately 10 minutes, which delayed dismissal, CBS Colorado reported. KDVR placed the police response at around 3:46 p.m. local time. Police accounts do not describe the incident as an attack aimed at students, and they do not establish how many shots were fired or whether anyone was specifically targeted.

The Denver Gazette described the arrested man as a 35-year-old family member of a student. Police said they would release his name later and had not announced charges in these reports; an arrest is not a finding of guilt. Investigators said information from the school's resource officers, together with Flock cameras, city cameras and drones, helped locate the suspect's vehicle, and officers arrested the man shortly afterward and recovered a firearm.

Awaaz Punjab will update this story if police name the arrested man or announce charges. Sources: CBS Colorado, via Aurora police (Oct. 20, 2026); KDVR FOX31 (Oct. 20, 2026); The Denver Gazette (Oct. 20, 2026).
