PALM BEACH, Fla. — Margaritaville at Sea Paradise will not be able to return to the Port of Palm Beach on Tuesday, October 27, as scheduled, the cruise line said in a travel advisory issued at 11 a.m. ET on Monday, October 26, after the port authority advised it of severe weather in the Palm Beach area. Weather permitting, the ship is now expected to arrive on Wednesday, October 28.

Passengers currently on board will get an extra day in Nassau, a cruise line spokesperson said, according to The Palm Beach Post's reporting carried by Cruise Blog. WPBF 25 News also reported that weather had delayed the ship's return to the Port of Palm Beach.

For passengers on the delayed sailing, packages priced per day, such as beverage or Wi-Fi packages, will receive a prorated refund as refund credit on the stateroom account, and any unused balance will be refunded to the original form of payment about 7 to 10 business days after the voyage ends, the advisory said. Each stateroom will also receive a $50 Future Cruise Credit toward a future Margaritaville at Sea sailing, as a thank-you for passengers' patience.
Travellers booked on the October 27 sailing who would rather sail another time may reschedule with no rebooking fees, the cruise line said. "The safety of our guests and crew remains our top priority," Margaritaville at Sea said.
The delay comes as coastal Palm Beach County was under multiple weather advisories on Monday: as of 5:10 p.m. on October 26, advisories warned of large breaking waves of 8 to 13 feet in the surf zone, significant coastal flooding and dangerous rip currents, Cruise Blog reported. The cruise line said refund amounts are based on the information available on Monday and may be adjusted if weather conditions, the itinerary or port guidance change.
