The pace of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrests in Blaine County, Idaho, has roughly doubled since January 2025, according to federal records analyzed by the 5b Gazette. ICE made 112 arrests in the county from October 2022 through early August 2026, and 94 of the people arrested were later deported, the analysis found.

ICE averaged about 1.7 arrests a month in the county from October 2022 until January 20, 2025, when the current administration took office, and about 3.5 a month since then. In the 2026 federal fiscal year, which began October 1, 2025, ICE had made 40 arrests in the county by August 5 — more than in any full fiscal year in the data, according to the Gazette.

Blaine County, home to Hailey and the Sun Valley resort area, has a significant Latino workforce. The Idaho Statesman has previously reported confirmed ICE arrests in the county, with Luis Campos, legal director of The Alliance of Idaho, confirming the agency's presence in Hailey after arrests near the Balmoral Apartments.

The county figures fit a wider Idaho pattern. A Stateline analysis of Deportation Data Project figures found Idaho was among the states with the largest increases in immigration arrests under the current administration — more than five times higher than in the same period a year earlier — while the share of arrestees with criminal convictions fell nationally.
