SOUTH BEND, Indiana — A South Bend daycare owner faces multiple felony charges for alleged crimes against children, ABC57 reported on Friday, October 23. Tysharae Jones, 29, is charged with battery with injury to a person under 14 years, neglect of a dependent resulting in bodily injury, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor — all felonies, according to ABC57. No child is named or identified in this report, in line with minor-safety rules.

The alleged fight took place in June 2026 at Jones's home, not at her daycare, according to prosecutors, WENG reported. A video allegedly showing children fighting inside her home spread online, and the video has not been released publicly because of its contents, according to that reporting.

Prosecutors say Indiana's universal reporting law is part of the case. Unlike states that require only certain professionals to report suspected child abuse, Indiana requires every adult to notify authorities, and prosecutors allege Jones had a duty to report the incident and did not, WENG reported.
The charges are allegations. No conviction has been reported, and the case will move through the courts, where Jones will have the opportunity to respond to the allegations.
