Debreczeni pleaded guilty in April 2026 after being arrested and charged in August 2025, NewsTalk New England reported, summarising the federal announcement. According to the Justice Department, between November 29, 2023 and December 12, 2023, Debreczeni distributed three videos containing CSAM in a private chat room on the Kik Messenger platform. U.S. Attorney Leah B. Foley and Ted E. Docks, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Boston Division, made the announcement. The Massachusetts State Police and the Duxbury and Quincy police departments provided assistance, and Assistant U.S. Attorney David Tobin of the Major Crimes Unit prosecuted the case, the department said.
The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide Justice Department initiative launched in May 2006 that marshals federal, state and local resources to locate, apprehend and prosecute individuals who exploit children, and to identify and rescue victims, the department said. No victim is identified in the reporting, in line with protections for minors.
