Detroit police rescued a woman in her 40s early on Wednesday and arrested a man, also in his 40s, after she was taken late on Tuesday from a residence in the 8000 block of Greenfield, on the city's west side, according to reporting by FOX 2 Detroit based on the Detroit Police Department.
Investigators tracked the case across the city to the 9000 block of Whittier on the east side, where officers found the woman inside an apartment building in the early hours of Wednesday. The department's Special Response Team deployed to the block, and commanders at the scene confirmed a search warrant was executed as part of the operation.
The suspect was taken into custody at the scene without further reported incident, and emergency personnel took the woman to a nearby hospital for medical treatment, the reports said.
Police have not released the names of either person, said what relationship — if any — existed between them, or announced the charges the suspect is expected to face. The investigation is continuing, and the allegations have not been tested in court.
