Henderson police arrested a 22-year-old man on two counts of open murder after a man and a woman, both 32, were found shot dead Friday morning, October 23, at an apartment complex in the 1000 block of Center Street near Lake Mead Parkway and Warm Springs Road, FOX5 Las Vegas and KTNV reported, both citing the Henderson Police Department.

Officers were called at about 7 a.m. after a caller reported hearing shots and seeing a man run from an apartment and drive away, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. About seven minutes later, a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle's description crashed on Lake Mead Parkway near Lake Las Vegas Parkway; police said the driver ran from the car and was taken into custody after a brief search.

Police said the man was booked on two counts of open murder plus hit-and-run-related charges, and that he is a family member of one of the victims, KTNV reported. The Clark County Coroner's Office will release the victims' names after their families are notified, police said. The charges are allegations and the man is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

The shooting was the second deadly shooting in the same area in two days: a 40-year-old woman was shot and killed at a neighbouring apartment complex on Thursday. Police said the two cases were not related, and no arrest had been made in Thursday's case, KTNV and News 3 Las Vegas reported.

Anyone with information about either case can contact Henderson police or Crime Stoppers of Nevada anonymously at 702-385-5555, police said.
