Troopers received the call at about 10:06 p.m. on Monday. Investigators said the four-door sedan left the road, struck a concrete sign and became fully engulfed in flames. Both people in the car — the driver and a passenger — were confirmed dead at the scene. Their names have not been released.
The southbound I-15 off-ramp to southbound St. Rose Parkway (State Route 146), which serves Henderson and Seven Hills, was closed overnight while investigators worked at the scene. It had reopened by 5 a.m. on Tuesday, in time for the morning commute.
The Highway Patrol has not yet said what caused the sedan to leave the road. More details are expected after the preliminary investigation. Interstate 15 is one of the busiest freight and travel corridors in the Southwest, linking Las Vegas with California to the south and Utah to the north.
