The shooting happened in the 1200 block of Senda de Valle, investigators said in their earlier warrant announcement. Gunfire struck an occupied home and a vehicle, and no injuries were reported. A 15-year-old from Pecos was already in custody in connection with the incident; he is not named because he is a minor.

Charges are allegations

Perea and Bencomo face allegations of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, shooting at an occupied dwelling, tampering with evidence and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, police said. Both were booked into the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center. The charges are allegations, and both men are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

While the two were at large, Santa Fe police had described them as armed and dangerous and asked the public not to approach them. Police are still asking anyone with information about the Oct. 15 shooting to contact the department.
