U.S. District Judge Mark R. Hornak imposed the sentence on Davion Xavier Thompson, 23, who pleaded guilty to the charge in June 2026. His earlier guilty-plea release from the same office confirms he pleaded guilty before Judge Hornak to one count of possession of ammunition by a convicted felon.

According to information presented to the court, on January 23, 2026, Thompson knowingly possessed a Glock-style handgun with an extended magazine. Attached to the rear of the unserialized handgun was a machinegun conversion device, also known as a Glock switch. Thompson is prohibited from possessing both a firearm and ammunition because of prior felony convictions for carrying a firearm without a license and unlawful possession of a firearm, prosecutors said.
Assistant U.S. Attorneys Kelly M. Locher and Nathaniel G. Ecker prosecuted the case. U.S. Attorney Rivetti commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General's Narcotics Task Force, the Allegheny County District Attorney's Narcotics Enforcement Team (DANET), the Stowe Township Police Department and the McKees Rocks Police Department for the investigation.
