DPS said its Criminal Investigations Division special agents executed search warrants on Oct. 22, 2026, at businesses in the Live Oak and Universal City areas. Investigators said the businesses showed multiple indicators consistent with human trafficking, according to the agency.

No arrests had been made at the time of the announcement, DPS said, and the investigation into the businesses continues. No additional information was released.

Local television station WOAI News 4 San Antonio also reported the rescue, headlining that six women were rescued in a human trafficking raid on massage businesses in the San Antonio area.

DPS said it follows a victim-centred approach, connecting rescued people to services intended to support their safety and recovery and to prevent further victimisation. The agency urged anyone with information about the businesses — or about possible human trafficking anywhere in Texas — to contact authorities.

DPS reminded the public that signs of human trafficking can be reported by calling 911, through iWatchTexas, or to the National Human Trafficking Hotline at 1-888-373-7888, or by texting "BeFree" to 233733.
