According to affidavit details reported by WFAA, Harris was driving a black Toyota Prius eastbound on Knob Oak Drive, stopped at the stop sign and began turning left onto northbound Garland Road when the Prius was struck on the driver's side by a southbound Hyundai Elantra allegedly driven by Rogers. Investigators reportedly used vehicle data, witness statements, physical damage and area video footage to reconstruct the collision.
Rogers' two young children were also in her vehicle at the time of the crash; all three survived, authorities said. Rogers was booked into the Dallas County Jail on October 16, with bond set at $250,000 on each manslaughter charge — yaani a combined $500,000 (about $5 lakh in bond across the two counts).
Harris and Duren had recently graduated from Southern Methodist University, where they shared a passion for theatre and worked with North Texas companies including Kitchen Dog Theater, Teatro Dallas and Hip Pocket Theatre, The Dallas Focal reported, adding that SMU has scheduled a memorial service for the pair on October 31. The charges against Rogers are allegations, the investigation is ongoing, and she is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
