Police and fire crews responded at about 2:57 a.m. to the westbound lanes of State Highway 183 — the Airport Freeway — near American Boulevard. Officers found that an adult man had been thrown from one of the vehicles; he was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical personnel. A second injured person was taken to hospital, where they remained in serious condition in the reports available on Saturday.

The westbound lanes of Highway 183 were closed for several hours while accident investigators worked at the scene, and the lanes have since reopened, police said. The crash involved commercial vehicles, according to the department's account, though the types of vehicles and how they collided had not been detailed in the initial reports.

A key airport and freight corridor
State Highway 183, known across the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex as the Airport Freeway, is one of the region's main east–west arteries. It links Fort Worth and Dallas, passes Euless and neighbouring mid-cities communities, and runs along the southern side of Dallas Fort Worth International Airport. Overnight, when passenger traffic thins out, the corridor carries a heavy share of commercial and freight vehicles moving between warehouses, the airport cargo area and the wider Texas highway network — the traffic mix in which this crash occurred.
Ejection is among the deadliest outcomes in any highway crash: a person thrown from a vehicle loses every protection the vehicle's structure, seatbelts and airbags are designed to provide. Road-safety officials have long identified ejection as a leading factor in fatal crash outcomes, which is why investigators treat the question of how an occupant came to be outside the vehicle as a central part of a fatal-crash reconstruction.
What investigators are doing
The Euless Police Department says the cause of the crash remains under active investigation. Investigators have asked anyone with additional information or video footage of the incident to contact the department — on a corridor used by commercial fleets, dash-camera and fleet video can be decisive in establishing the sequence of a pre-dawn collision.

The dead man has not been publicly named. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office will release his identity once his next of kin has been notified, according to the police reporting — the standard step that must come before any official identification in a Tarrant County road death.

Police have not released the names of either person involved, the exact types of commercial vehicles, or any indication of what caused the crash. No arrest or charge has been announced, and none should be assumed from the investigation alone.
What happens next
The investigation will now work through the vehicle positions, roadway evidence and any video to establish how the collision happened on the westbound freeway. The medical examiner's identification will be the next confirmed fact in the case, followed by the department's findings on cause. For the Metroplex's large overnight trucking workforce — including many Punjabi drivers who run the airport and warehouse corridors of Dallas–Fort Worth — the crash is a reminder of the risks concentrated in the quietest hours of the freeway day. Awaaz Punjab will update this story when police release the victim's name or their findings.
