Toyota is recalling 105,794 Land Cruiser Hybrid vehicles in the United States because a fuel tube connection near the fuel tank can come apart and leak fuel, raising the risk of a fire, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said on Wednesday, according to Reuters.

The recall covers certain 2024 to 2027 model-year Land Cruiser Hybrid vehicles. NHTSA said the resin fuel tube connection can disconnect, and leaked fuel could ignite if it reaches an ignition source.
What the recall filings show
Recall documentation reported by AutoGuide says the connection can separate if its retaining clip becomes unseated or lifted. Toyota told regulators it had identified 23 field technical reports and 64 warranty claims in the United States related to the condition as of October 6, and decided on October 8 to launch the voluntary safety recall, AutoGuide reported.

As part of the remedy, dealers will install a supplemental clamp or replace the resin fuel tube free of charge, NHTSA said. Owners can check whether their vehicle is included through NHTSA's recall lookup or Toyota's recall page using their vehicle identification number.
The recall does not mean every listed vehicle has leaked fuel or caught fire. It means the vehicles fall within the population identified as potentially affected by the defect, and the inspection decides what work each vehicle needs.
