The death toll from Monday's Houthi attack on a government security forces training camp in Yemen's Shabwa province has risen to 53 people killed, with 200 injured, Reuters reported, citing the local authority in Shabwa. The report was relayed by SRN News.

Global Arab Network independently reported that more than 50 people were killed at the Al-Alam camp, in the Jardan district of Shabwa province.

Reuters said three ballistic missiles were fired at the security forces during a training exercise. The victims were largely new recruits.

What changed since the morning report: first reports said at least 18–20 killed and about two dozen wounded — AP, citing Yemeni military officials, reported at least 20 killed, while Reuters, citing sources, reported at least 18 killed. The toll has now been revised to 53 killed and 200 wounded, per Reuters citing the local authority in Shabwa.

The Houthi-run SABA agency claimed the attack — that is their claim, reported as such.
