IANS said both suspects are reported to have played a crucial role in the supply of weapons linked to the case. A separate report by 2DaysBulletin named the two men as Samir and Jatin and said investigators allege Jatin travelled to Amritsar with two other suspects, Kunal and Sumit, to obtain the weapons believed to have been used in the shooting, while Samir, a friend of Jatin, allegedly stayed with the three alleged shooters in Mumbai's Andheri area. These are police allegations reported by the outlets and have not been proved in court.

The arrests follow the October 20 arrest of four accused by the Delhi Police Special Cell's NDR unit. Deputy Commissioner of Police Praveen Tripathi told ANI that Kunal, 21, allegedly collected the weapons from a pre-decided location in Amritsar with Sumit's help, acting on instructions from Anil Pandit, and that Radha, 23, and Babita, 23, allegedly helped deliver them to a minor near a railway station in Mumbai. Tripathi said Kunal had communicated with Pandit through encrypted channels; sources cited by ANI described the handover method as a 'dead letter box', in which an item is left at a pre-arranged place for another person to collect. Haryana Director General of Police Ajay Singhal said Haryana Police had identified accused persons and assisted Mumbai Police in the case, ANI reported via LatestLY.

On October 18, three motorcycle-borne men opened fire at Shroff in Mumbai's Juhu area. The actor was not shot, while his driver was injured, IANS reported. The accused allegedly fled to Surat in Gujarat and boarded a Jaipur-bound train, planning to travel on to Delhi and escape to Nepal, but were arrested by Mumbai Police in Kota, Rajasthan. Mumbai Crime Branch sources cited by IANS said the accused had allegedly conducted reconnaissance of the residences of several Bollywood celebrities before the attack — a claim that remains a police allegation at this stage.
