Family alleges no CPR was given; principal explains the staff's response

The girl's family has alleged — an allegation, not a finding — that she was not administered CPR after she collapsed, and a relative has alleged that the school lacks adequate medical arrangements to handle emergencies despite charging substantial fees. The family questioned why CPR was not administered immediately after the collapse.

Asked about CPR, Principal Bhawna said the staff initially believed the girl had lost consciousness because of an injury to her chin, which was bleeding, and that they rushed her to hospital. She said doctors at the hospital stated that the girl had suffered a cardiac arrest. The principal said the school was never informed of any health issue: the parents had never mentioned one and the child did not appear ill. She said the school took the girl straight to hospital and informed her mother immediately, and that another teacher brought the mother to the hospital right away.

What is known, and what is not

Confirmed by police: the collapse in the classroom on November 4, the 9:52 a.m. PCR call, the CCTV examination and that no foul play has been found so far. Not yet established: the exact cause of death, which awaits the post-mortem. The family's CPR and medical-arrangements claims are allegations; the principal's account is the school's version. The child is not named, in line with protections for minors.

What happens next: Delhi Police say further enquiry is underway to ascertain the exact circumstances, and the post-mortem report is awaited. Any official finding on the cause of death — and any response from education authorities — will be reported as it is confirmed.
