Bihar Police has ordered 1,100 Revolt BlazeX electric motorcycles for patrolling operations, in one of the largest single orders for electric two-wheelers by an Indian police force, Autocar Professional reported on Wednesday, in an announcement also reported by Equity Bulls. Revolt Motors, a wholly owned subsidiary of RattanIndia Enterprises Limited, said it had secured the order, extending its electric bikes beyond individual riders to public-sector mobility and law-enforcement requirements.

The bikes are scheduled to be delivered in Patna. The order carries a contractual completion timeline of January 2027, while Revolt Motors is working towards completing deliveries by November 2026. The company said the order could encourage other state police forces, defence organisations, government departments, public-sector undertakings and other institutions to electrify their two-wheeler fleets.

The BlazeX offers a range of up to 150 km and can be charged using a standard 10A power socket, without necessarily depending on dedicated charging infrastructure. It has a removable battery and under-seat storage in which the charger can be carried, and inbuilt GPS that supports vehicle tracking. The company said electric bikes have significantly lower running and maintenance costs than petrol equivalents, savings that add up across a fleet of this size.

Anjali Rattan, Chairperson of RattanIndia Enterprises Limited, said securing an order for 1,100 electric bikes from Bihar Police was a significant step for Revolt, adding that institutional mobility presents a different set of requirements from individual ownership and that engagements of this scale give the company an opportunity to take its products into real-world operating environments. She said the company sees institutional adoption as an important avenue for expanding the role of electric bikes in India.

Revolt Motors, founded in 2017, markets what it describes as India's first AI-enabled bike and has a community of more than 60,000 riders and a network of over 182 dealerships across India. RattanIndia Enterprises is the flagship company of the RattanIndia Group, with businesses across electric mobility, e-commerce, fashion brands, fintech and drones.
