Victim was on bail in a 2021 murder case

According to police, Ravi was an accused in a 2021 murder case registered at the Netaji Subhash Place police station in Delhi's North-West district (FIR No. 14/21) and had been released on bail in October 2026.

Police said Ravi had been drinking with acquaintances on Monday night, including Kamal Goswami, and that the group later sat talking in a car. When Ravi stepped out of the vehicle, he was allegedly shot with a pistol. Investigators suspect a revenge motive: police say Goswami was a friend of the man killed in the 2021 case and allegedly held a grudge against Ravi. The motive remains a police suspicion and has not been tested in court.

Alleged pistol and getaway car recovered

Police said they arrested Kamal Goswami, a resident of JJ Colony in Wazirpur, and his associate Monu, also a Wazirpur resident, after a manhunt. The pistol allegedly used in the shooting and the white Maruti Swift car reportedly used to flee the spot have been recovered, police said. Further investigation is underway.
