Lee Su-bin equalised in the 26th minute when her indirect free-kick struck the defensive wall and her follow-up deflected off Resty Nanziri into the net. Wie's first goal came from a penalty awarded after a Football Video Support review for a foul by Hitomi Tanaka on Choi Jeong-min, following a request from Hwacheon head coach Kang Sun-mi. She sealed the win in the 76th minute, running onto Kim Hyeon-a's through ball to slot past goalkeeper Panthoi Chanu Elangbam. Minutes earlier Mun Eun-ju had swept home a Jeong-min cross from the left to make it 3-1, ArunFoot reported.

The result leaves East Bengal third in Group B with three points from two matches, level on points with second-placed Hwacheon, who picked up their first win of the campaign. East Bengal, the Indian Women's League champions, had opened with a 2-1 victory over Vietnam's Ho Chi Minh City WFC on the first matchday.

East Bengal's group campaign concludes on Saturday against DPR Korea's 4.25 SC, who have already secured one of the two automatic qualification spots. A point against 4.25 will guarantee East Bengal a quarter-final berth, while even a defeat may see them through as one of the two best third-placed teams across all groups. Should Saturday's Group A match between Bam Khatoon FC of Iran and Ayeyawady FC of Myanmar end in a draw, East Bengal will qualify before their own game kicks off, ArunFoot reported.
