New Delhi, Nov 4: The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Wednesday launched the 'Network Anubhav Platform', a geospatial and analytical dashboard that brings together consumer-generated speed and call test data along with the regulator's own independent drive test results, Hindu BusinessLine reported. The platform is live at anubhav.trai.gov.in, Storyboard18 reported, and was announced in TRAI press release No. 149/2026.

User test data on the platform comes from TRAI's MySpeed and MyCall apps. Consumers can view test results on interactive maps, sorted by cellular or fixed broadband and further segregated service provider-wise and technology-wise, based on parameters including download and upload speeds, the regulator said. The portal also brings TRAI's Do Not Disturb (DND) services to a web interface, so users can manage promotional calls and messages and complain about spam from the same place, Storyboard18 reported.

"Though these values based on user tests do not represent a comprehensive assessment of network quality based on standard methodology, they provide valuable information to users regarding the experience of other users at various locations," TRAI said. Telecom service providers can access call quality, coverage and internet test data — including location, date and time — through a secure interface, and can use it to identify problem areas and improve their networks, the regulator said. TRAI also introduced a MySpeed software development kit (SDK) so eligible third-party app developers can integrate its network measurement tools, NewKerala reported.

"The 'Network Anubhav Platform' brings greater transparency to observed network tests conducted by consumers and TRAI. It empowers consumers to analyse location and service provider specific tests, enables TSPs to identify areas for network optimisation and strengthens TRAI's efforts for network improvement," TRAI Chairman Anil Kumar Lahoti said. Consumers are encouraged to contribute regularly through the MySpeed and MyCall apps, since wider participation improves the coverage and utility of the platform's information, he added. TRAI has clarified, however, that it does not directly resolve individual telecom complaints — those still go to the customer's own provider, Storyboard18 reported.

What happens next: the map's usefulness will grow with the number of tests consumers contribute, and TRAI says it will use the aggregated data for evidence-based monitoring of consumer experience. For readers, the immediate use is practical — before switching a SIM or buying a broadband plan, the dashboard shows what speeds and call quality other users actually recorded in that locality, on each network.
